Parasha Va’etchanan

Va'etchanan (וָאֶתְחַנַּן‎—Hebrew for “and I pleaded”).

Va'etchanan, the parasha in the book of Deuteronomy, details Moshe' plea to enter the Promised Land. Reflecting on Elohim's commandments and the significance of the Exodus, he implores the Israelites to heed these teachings. The Shema, a central declaration of monotheism, is reiterated, emphasizing love and devotion to Elohim. Moshe reviews key events, including the receipt of the Ten Commandments, and warns against idolatry. Though denied entry into Canaan, Moshe appoints cities of refuge and sets aside cities for the Levites. The parasha underscores the importance of obedience, love for Elohim, and the enduring covenant between the Israelites and the Almighty.
