Parasha Va’era
Va'eira, Va'era, or Vaera (וָאֵרָא—Hebrew for “and I appeared”).
Parasha Va'eira, in Exodus, continues the narrative of Moshe and Aharon confronting Pharaoh to release the Israelites. Elohim intensifies the plagues upon Egypt, demonstrating His power. Despite witnessing miracles, Pharaoh's heart remains hardened. The plagues escalate, including frogs, lice, and hail. Va'eira emphasizes Yahweh's authority over nature and the persistent theme of divine justice. Moshe and Aharon stand as intermediaries, challenging Pharaoh's resistance. The Parasha sets the stage for the eventual liberation of the Israelites, highlighting the tension between Elohim's sovereignty and human free will, showcasing the divine intervention that shapes the course of the Exodus narrative.
