Parasha Nitzavim
Nitzavim, Nitsavim, Nitzabim, Netzavim, Nisavim, or Nesabim (נִצָּבִים—Hebrew for “ones standing”).
Nitzavim, in Deuteronomy, gathers the Israelites for a covenant renewal before entering the Promised Land. Moshe stresses the accessibility of Elohim's commandments, emphasizing their relevance for individuals. The parasha forewarns of the consequences of straying from the covenant and highlights the possibility of repentance. It proclaims that the covenant spans generations and extends to all, emphasizing the collective responsibility of the community. Nitzavim underscores the inherent choice between life and death, blessing and curse, encouraging the people to choose the path of obedience and fidelity.
