Parasha Behar
Behar, BeHar, Be-har, or B'har (בְּהַר—Hebrew for “on the mount”).
Parasha Behar focuses on laws related to the Sabbatical year and the Jubilee. It commands the Israelites to observe a Sabbath for the land every seventh year, allowing it to rest and rejuvenate. Additionally, it mandates the return of land to its original owners and the release of slaves during the Jubilee year, promoting social justice and equality. The parashah also addresses fair treatment of the poor, guidelines for lending and borrowing, and regulations regarding the sale of land. Overall, Behar emphasizes the importance of rest, social equity, and stewardship of the land, reflecting Elohim's concern for both people and the environment.
