Parashat Terumah – Year 3 – Preparing the Set-apart Place.
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we will study the parashat Terumah, portion of year 3, where we will see that Yahweh instructs Moshe about the curtain that will separate the Set-apart place from the most Set-apart place, made of fine linen with cherubim. The Ark was to be placed behind this curtain. The veil at the entrance and the bronze altar for sacrifices, along with its utensils, are also described. Yahweh details the courtyard of the tabernacle, its pillars, curtains, and bases. Everything was to be made with precious materials and exact measurements, showing that worship was to follow a sacred and orderly design established by Him.
Shemote (Exodus) 26:31-32
31 “You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim.
32 You shall hang it upon the four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold. Their hooks shall be gold, upon four sockets of silver.
This week corresponds to the reading of the texts (in bold):
- Shemote (Exodus) 25:1-40 / 26:1-30 / 26:31-27:19
- Melachim Aleph (1 Kings) 5:1-18 / 6:1-10 / 6:11-38
- Yochanan (John) 15 / 16 / 17
Summary of the weekly study, Year three:
Shemote (Éxodus) 26:31-27:19
In these verses, Yahweh instructs Moshe on the making of the veil that would separate the Set-apart place from the most Set-apart place, emphasizing the Set-apartness of His presence. The Ark was to be placed behind the veil, marking a clear boundary between the Set-apart and the most Set-apart. The design of the entrance, the bronze altar, and the courtyard are also detailed, all following specific measurements and materials. These instructions show that worshiping Yahweh requires obedience, precision, and respect for His will. In this passage, we learn that drawing near to Yahweh involves honoring the Set-apartness and order He has established.
Melachim Aleph (1 Kings) 6:11-38
In these verses, Yahweh speaks to Solomon, reminding him that the key to His blessing is not the grandeur of the temple, but obedience to His commandments. The construction of the sanctuary is described in detail: its walls covered with cedar, the decorations with cherubim, palms, and flowers, the covering in pure gold, and the division into Set-apart and most Set-apart places. The golden altar and the careful craftsmanship are also mentioned. Everything reflects beauty and reverence toward Yahweh. In this passage, we learn that true glory lies in obeying and honoring Yahweh with excellence.
Yochanan (John) 17
In these verses, Yeshua offers a profound prayer to the Father, asking that His glory be revealed and that His disciples be kept in unity and truth. He expresses that eternal life consists of knowing Yahweh and His messenger, Yeshua. He prays not only for the disciples present, but also for all who will believe in Him, that they may be one, just as He and the Father are one. He asks that His love dwell in them and that they see His glory. In this passage, we learn that unity and love in Yahweh are at the center of our faith.

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadasha). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.
