Parasha Ekev – 2023
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we bring the activity of the parasha Ekev, in it we will see the blessings of hearing, keeping the Torah and remembering every day how Yahweh blessed the people during the last forty years in the desert. Furthermore, it reminds them that it is not because of Israel’s righteousness that they have what they have but only because of the mercy of Yahweh Elohim.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 7:12-13
12 “Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that Yahweh your Elohim will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers.
13 And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.”
This week corresponds to the reading of the texts:
- Devarim (Deuteronomy) 7:12-9:3 / 9:4-10:11 / 10:12-11:25
- Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 49:1-7 / 49:8-26 / 50
- Yochanan (John) 13 / 14 / 15
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.
