Parasha Ha’azinu – Year 1 – Israel: Worship your Creator!
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we bring the activity of the parashah Ha’azinu, where we will read the first part of the song of Moshe (Moses) who spoke in front of the congregation of Israel. In this song, Moses highlights the importance of remembering our past in Egypt and how we were delivered with a strong hand by the Creator’s mercy alone. This is why we must be a grateful and humble people to our Father Yahweh who delivered us from the slavery of the world.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:7-8
7 Do you thus deal with Yahweh, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father, who bought you? Has He not made you and established you?
8 Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; Your elders, and they will tell you…
This week corresponds to the reading of the texts:
- Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:1-32:12 / 32:13-39 / 32:40-52
- Shemuel Bet (2 Samuel) 22:1-17 / 22:18-35 / 22:36-51
- Qorintim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 1:1-9 / 1:10-17 / 1:18-31
Summary of the weekly study, Year one:
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:1-32:12
These verses are known as the Song of Moshe (Moses), where he calls attention to Yahweh’s faithfulness to Israel throughout history. Moshe exhorts the people to remember Yahweh’s righteous deeds, His role as rock and redeemer. The passage highlights Israel’s divine election, His protection and provision in the wilderness, and the people’s ingratitude. Through powerful images such as the rain, the eagle and the promised land, Moshe presents the relationship between Yahweh and Israel as a loving and enduring covenant, based on faithfulness and divine care.
Shemuel Bet (2 Samuel) 22:1-17
In these verses, David offers a hymn of gratitude and praise to Yahweh for His deliverance from enemies and dangers. He describes Elohim as his rock, fortress and refuge in times of affliction. David recognizes divine justice in intervening on his behalf, rescuing him from death and adversity. He uses powerful imagery such as earthquakes and fire to describe divine intervention against his enemies. This hymn reflects David’s deep faith in Yahweh’s protection and salvation, and his recognition of divine sovereignty over his life and circumstances.
Qorintim Alef (1 Corinthians) 1:1-9
In these verses, Shaul (Paul) greets the assembly in Corinth and reminds them of their calling as set apart in Messiah Yeshua. He stresses the grace and peace that come from Yahweh, emphasizing the spiritual richness that the Corinthians possess in Yeshua. Shaul commends the abundance of spiritual gifts and the testimony of Messiah among them. Although they face challenges and divisions, Shaul is confident in the faithfulness of Yahweh, who has called them into fellowship with His Son. This introduction sets the tone for addressing the divisions and problems in the assembly, recalling the centrality of the Messiah and His redeeming grace.

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadashah). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.
