Parashat Vezot Haberakhah – Year 3 – The Legacy of Moshe.

Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.

This week we will study the parashat Vezot Haberakhah, portion of year 3, where we will see how Moshe ascends Mount Nebo to gaze upon the land that Yahweh promised to His people. We will learn that our Elohim is faithful to His word and demonstrates His great, everlasting love. We will read about the passing of this great servant and how the children of Israel mourned him with great respect. We will see that Joshua receives the spirit of wisdom to lead the nation according to His divine will. Finally, we will learn that there was no other prophet like Moshe, whom Yahweh knew face to face to display His immense sovereign power.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 34:8
8 And the children of Israel wept for Moshe in the plains of Moab thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moshe ended.

Summary of the weekly study, Year three:

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 34:1-12

In these verses, we witness the end of Moshe’ leadership and Yahweh’s faithfulness in fulfilling His promise. Although the great prophet does not cross the Jordan, Elohim allows him to see the land with his own eyes before his departure. We see that leadership continues through Joshua, who receives wisdom to guide His people according to His sovereign will. The close relationship between the Creator and His servant highlights the importance of obedience and service. His legacy remains alive in the generations who walk by faith. In this passage, we learn that His will always endures.

Yehoshua (Joshua) 1:16-18

In these verses, we contemplate the response of His people to the new leadership of Joshua under the direction of Yahweh. The children of Israel promise to obey all orders and follow wherever they are sent by His sovereign will. They desire that Elohim be with their leader just as He was with Moshe in the past. They recognize that unity and faithfulness are essential to conquer the promised land. They also encourage their leader to be strong and courageous in His name to fulfill His work. In this passage, we learn that faithful obedience to His divine voice prospers.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 7

In these verses, Yeshua teaches us the importance of living with righteousness and wisdom by following His perfect example. We learn not to judge others to receive Yahweh’s mercy in our lives. We are invited to ask, seek, and knock with confidence that our heavenly Father will respond according to His kind will. We must choose the narrow gate that leads to life and bear good fruit that honors His set-apart name always. By putting His word into practice, we build a solid and indestructible foundation against trials. In this passage, we learn that obedience is our truly strong rock.

And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
