Parasha Vayelech – Year 1 – Moshe’s Successor
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we bring the activity of the parashah Vayelech, where we see that Moshe reminds the people of Yahweh’s words that he would not enter the land, so, he designates them at that moment his successor, giving him words of encouragement and encouragement to be able to take the people to the Promised Land. Remember, Yahweh is always ahead of us, so we must stand firm in His way.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 31:8
8 And Yahweh, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
This week corresponds to the reading of the texts:
- Devarim (Deuteronomy) 31:1-8 / 31:9-13 / 31:14-30
- Hoshea (Hosea) 14 / Micah 7 / Yoel (Joel) 2
- Yaāakov (James) 1:1-18 / 1:19-2:13 / 2:14-26
Summary of the weekly study, Year one:
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 31:1-18
These verses emphasize the transition of leadership from Moshe to Yejoshua (Joshua) and Yahweh’s promise to be with Israel. Moshe assures Israel that Yahweh will fight for them, despite their fear and weakness. He instructs Yejoshua to be courageous and confident, reminding him that Yahweh will never leave him nor forsake him. The main lesson is the importance of trust in Yahweh in times of change and difficulty. Through this transition, Yahweh shows His faithfulness and steadfast love for His people, urging them to remain faithful and obedient to His will.
Hoshea (Hosea) 14
These verses present a call to repentance and restoration. Yahweh urges Israel to return to Him, promising to heal their apostasy and to love them freely. The chapter emphasizes the importance of humility and trust in Yahweh, urging Israel to abandon idolatry and rely on Him for provision and protection. Yahweh promises to restore Israel’s spiritual and physical fertility, transforming their wilderness into a flourishing garden. The central lesson is Yahweh’s mercy, His willingness to forgive and restore those who sincerely turn to Him in repentance and faith.
Luqa (Luke) 24:1-12
These verses relate the resurrection of Yeshua. At dawn on the first day of the week, the women go to the tomb and find the stone rolled away. Two men tell them that Yeshua has risen, reminding them of His words. The women inform the disciples, who are hesitant at first, but Kepha investigates and finds the tomb empty. Although perplexed, the disciples remember Yeshua’s words about His resurrection. This passage underscores the importance of believing in Yeshua’s words and their fulfillment, as well as the need to remember and share the truth of His resurrection.

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadashah). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.Ā
