Parashat Va’etchanan – Year 3 – With All We Are.
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we will study the parashat Va’etchanan, portion of year 3, where we will see the importance of loving Yahweh with all our heart and soul, and how we must diligently teach His commandments to our children every day. We will learn to never forget His blessings when we are in times of abundance, avoiding following other false elohim. We will read about the great value of being a special and set-apart people, chosen exclusively for His love and constant faithfulness. Finally, we will understand that obeying His laws is our grateful response to His great deliverance, keeping alive the eternal covenant He swore to our fathers.
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 6:5
5 You shall love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
This week corresponds to the reading of the texts (in bold):

- Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 40:1-8 / 40:9-20 / 40:21-31
- Luqa (Luke) 22:1-23 / 22:24-46 / 22:47-71
Summary of the weekly study, Year three:
Devarim (Deuteronomy) 6:4-7:11
In these verses, we are invited to love the Creator deeply with all our strength and will. It is essential to constantly pass on these teachings to new generations at home. We must always remember who gave us freedom and not stray from His ways when we have material abundance. We are a special people called to live with integrity, recognizing that divine faithfulness is eternal for those who keep His commandments. Obedience is not a burden, but a response to the love we have received. In this passage, we learn that total commitment to the divine guides our lives toward true eternal blessing.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 40:21-31
These verses highlight the immense greatness of the One who created the entire universe. Nothing compares to His infinite power, for He observes the world from above and sustains life with wisdom. Sometimes we think we are alone or that our energy is running out, but we are assured that Yahweh never tires or grows weary. By placing our hope in His guidance, we will receive renewed strength to move forward with determination. He lifts up the weary and strengthens the weak. Therefore, we must always trust. In this passage, we learn that His strength restores us.
Luqa (Luke) 22:47-71
In these verses, we observe moments of great difficulty and trial during the arrest of the one who came to save us. We see human frailty represented in betrayal and denial, but also calmness and forgiveness in the face of injustice. Although the outlook seems bleak, a profound truth is revealed about the one who accepts His destiny with great courage out of pure love. We are shown that the path of service often involves facing loneliness and unjust rejection from others. Despite the pain, truth always prevails and shines through. In this passage, we learn that the light of Yeshua overcomes all darkness.

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadasha). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.
