Parashat Acharei Mot – Year 3 – Set-apartness in the Home.
Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we will study the parashat Acharei Mot, portion of year 3, where we will see how Yahweh speaks to His people about living righteously and separately from the evil practices of other nations. We will learn the importance of obeying His commandments in our daily relationships and actions. We will read about boundaries that protect the family and community, and how our decisions affect others. We will see that following Yahweh helps us live in set-apartness and harmony. We will learn that turning away from what is forbidden brings blessing, and that ignoring His teachings can bring consequences. We will see the importance of choosing what pleases Yahweh.

Summary of the weekly study, Year three:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:1-30
In these verses, Yahweh instructs His people on the importance of living separately and righteously, avoiding the immoral practices of neighboring nations. We are taught to respect boundaries in family and community relationships and to honor His commandments in all we do. It is emphasized that obedience brings life and blessing, while disobedience has consequences. We will learn that set-apartness is not just a concept, but a way of life that protects the community and reflects Yahweh’s will. In this passage, we learn the importance of living apart to please Yahweh.
Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 22:23-31
In these verses, Yahweh shows His displeasure with the corruption and injustice that has spread throughout Jerusalem. We will see that the leaders, judges, and prophets have failed to guide and protect the people, allowing violence, exploitation, and sin to flourish. We will learn that the lack of responsibility and selfishness of those who should care for others bring judgment upon the city. We will see that Yahweh does not ignore these injustices and seeks a righteous remnant who will do what is right and defend His will. In this passage, we learn that faithfulness and justice are essential to living according to Yahweh.
Ephesim (Ephesians) 5:22-33
In these verses, we will see how Yeshua teaches about the relationship between husbands and wives, showing a model of love, respect, and mutual devotion. We will learn that wives should respect their husbands and that husbands should love their wives as Yeshua loves His people, giving Himself up for them. We will see that marriage is a reflection of the bond between Yeshua and His people, uniting hearts and lives in mutual commitment and care. In this passage, we learn that love and respect in the home reflect Yeshua’s relationship with His people and His glory.

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadasha). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
Shalom.
