The Transfiguration of Yeshua – The Radiance of Divinity

Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.

This week, we will learn the biblical story of Yeshua taking three disciples to a special place, where something incredible and amazing would happen. Two important people in the biblical story appeared and spoke with Him. Then, a bright cloud covered everything and a voice said something very important. This lesson teaches us and reminds us that Yeshua is the true son of Yahweh Elohim, that He is very special and that we should listen to what He teaches us with great care and love.

The biblical passages used in this study are:
  • Mattityahu (Matthew) 17:1-13
  • Marqaus (Mark) 9:2-13
  • Luqa (Luke) 9:28-36
Some of the lessons learned from this study include:
  • Yeshua’s divinity: The transfiguration reveals Yeshua’s true divine nature. His face shines with heavenly light, demonstrating his unique connection to Yahweh. This experience strengthens the faith of the disciples and helps them understand Yeshua’s true identity as the Son of Yahweh.

  • The continuity between the Tanach (Old Testament) and the Renewed Covenant (New Testament): The presence of Moshe and Eliyahu (Elijah) during the transfiguration symbolizes the connection between the law and prophets of the Tanach with the Messiah Yeshua. Yeshua is the fulfillment of the prophecies and the incarnation of the law, which confirms his central role in the history of redemption.

  • The importance of listening to Yeshua: The voice of the Father from the cloud proclaims: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him”. This statement emphasizes Yeshua’s authority as the one sent by Elohim and the need to heed His teachings and follow His example in our lives. The transfiguration reminds us of the importance of listening to and obeying Yeshua’s words.

Marqaus (Mark) 9:7
7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”

We hope that you, and especially your sons and daughters, will enjoy this activity. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.

Shalom.
