Vayiqra (Leviticus) 19:36-37
10 You shall have honest scales, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
11 ‘Therefore you shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them: I am Yahweh.’ “

Parasha Kedoshim – Year 2 – Keep My Laws!

Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.

This week we will study the parasha Kedoshim, portion of year 2, we will learn various laws that Yahweh gave to the people of Israel to live in a just and respectful manner. These rules include rules about farming, animal care, clothing, and relationships with others. Also, we will see the importance of being honest, fair and kind to all people, including strangers. Obeying Elohim implies applying His commandments in daily life, showing love and respect for others.

This week corresponds to the reading of the texts (in bold):

  • Vayiqra (Leviticus) 19:1-18 / 19:19-37 / 20:1-27
  • Amos 9:1-6 / 9:7-10 / 9:11-15
  • Corintim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 6
  • Galatim (Galatians) 5:1-15 / 5:16-26

Summary of the weekly study, Year two:

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 19:19-37

In these verses, various laws are presented that guide the people of Israel toward a righteous and godly life. These regulations cover agriculture, animal husbandry and clothing standards. They also show us the importance of treating others with justice and kindness, prohibiting deceit and injustice. There is a call to show love and respect for strangers and to care for those in need. Through these teachings, we learn that obedience to Yahweh Elohim implies living with integrity and love in all areas of life.

Amos 9:7-10

In these verses a message is conveyed about Yahweh’s judgment and his relationship with Israel and other nations. Elohim reminds Israel that, although they are His chosen people, they are not superior to other nations. The passage points out that Yahweh has a plan to judge everyone, and that even Israel will face consequences for their disobedience. We will see that those who trust in their own strength and not in Elohim will be destroyed, while those who take refuge in Him will find hope. This passage teaches us about divine justice and the importance of living in conformity with Yahweh’s commandments.

Galatim (Galatians) 5:1-15

These verses address the freedom that believers have in Messiah and the importance of standing firm in that freedom. Shaul (Paul) warns against legalism and the practices of the law that seek to impose unnecessary burdens. He stresses that, although we are free, we must not use that freedom as a pretext to sin, but to serve others in love. True freedom in Yeshua implies living guided by the Spirit, manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. By loving and serving others, believers reflect the character of the Messiah and fulfill the most important law: to love their neighbor.

Parasha Kedoshim - Year 2 - Keep My Laws!

Enjoy this fun activity with the whole family. Inside you will find development questions for the three weekly sections (Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadashah). While the older ones discuss the questions and their answers, the younger ones can color the picture related to the teaching, solve a maze, find the 7 differences and much more. We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.

We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.

Shalom
