10 Just as Yahweh commanded Moshe, so did the daughters of Zelophehad;

Parashat Mattot/Massei – Year 3 – Steadfast In Obedience.

Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.

This week we will study the parashat Mattot/Massei, portion of year 3, we will see that Yahweh assigned special cities to the Levites so that they could live among the people. We will learn about cities of refuge, safe places for those who accidentally caused death. We will read how justice was established to protect life and prevent unjust revenge. Finally, we will learn about inheritance laws for women. We will see the importance of keeping property within each tribe, ensuring that family legacies were preserved as the people prepared to enter the land Yahweh promised them.

Summary of the weekly study, Year three:

Bemidbar (Numbers) 35:1-36:13

In these verses, we will read how Yahweh organized the lives of His people to ensure justice and order in His new land. We will see that He established special places to protect those who made mistakes by accident, thus avoiding unnecessary violence. We will also learn about the importance of caring for family promises through laws that protected the inheritance of each group. We will read that each instruction sought to ensure that everyone lived in peace, respecting the limits set by Yahweh for the common good of the nation. In this passage, we learn that Yahweh desires a community where mercy and justice walk together forever.

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:6-25

In these verses, we will read how Yahweh compares the unfaithfulness of Israel and Judah to the betrayal of a wife. We will see that although Israel strayed first, Judah did not learn from the example and also failed in its covenant. We will learn that Yahweh is compassionate and constantly calls His people to return with sincerity of heart. We will read promises of restoration for those who acknowledge their faults and decide to obey Him again. We will see that spiritual healing begins with honest confession before Yahweh. In this passage, we learn that genuine repentance is the only way to fully restore our relationship with Yahweh.

Ephesim (Ephesians) 6:5-24

In these verses, we will read how we should act with integrity and respect in our daily responsibilities. We will see that work should be done sincerely, as if we were serving Yeshua directly and not people. We will learn about the spiritual armor that Yahweh gives us to protect us from difficult trials. We will read about the importance of constant prayer and of standing firm in faith with courage. We will see that peace and grace are gifts for those who love Yeshua. In this passage, we learn that living with integrity and faith allows us to walk safely under Yahweh’s protection.

And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
