Parasha Matot/Masei

Matot, Mattot, Mattoth, o Matos (מַּטּוֹת‎—Hebreo para “tribus). / Masei, Mas'ei, o Masse (מַסְעֵי‎—Hebreo para “jornadas”).

La Parashá Matot-Masei, en Números, aborda los votos, en particular los realizados por mujeres. Los israelitas se preparan para entrar en la Tierra Prometida cuando las tribus de Rubén y Gad solicitan tierras al este del Jordán. Se designan ciudades de refugio, que garantizan la justicia para los asesinos involuntarios. Masei enumera las 42 paradas en el desierto, relatando las etapas del viaje. La Parashá hace hincapié en la santidad de las palabras, la asignación de tierras y la búsqueda de la justicia.
