The Triumphal Entry to Jerusalem.

• Prophetic Fulfillment: Yeshua’s entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey fulfills the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout for joy, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your king will come to you, righteous and savior, humble, and riding on a donkey.” This not only confirms Yeshua’s identity as the promised Messiah, but also reinforces the credibility and accuracy of the Scriptures, showing that Elohim fulfills His promises.
• Yeshua’s humility: Instead of entering Jerusalem as a military conqueror on a war horse, Yeshua chooses a donkey, symbolizing humility and peace. This choice highlights the helpful and humble character of His ministry and contrasts with the expectations of an earthly king. It teaches us the importance of humility and serving others with a simple heart.
• Spiritual Kingdom: Yeshua’s triumphal entry underscores the nature of His kingdom, which is spiritual and not political. Yeshua came to establish Yahweh’s kingdom in the hearts of people, centered on justice, peace and love. This spiritual approach invites us to seek first the kingdom of Elohim and His righteousness, trusting that the rest will be added.
• Reaction of the Crowd: The crowd that received Yeshua with palm branches and shouts of “Hosanna” (meaning “save us now”) recognized His authority and messianism. This act of worship and public acclamation reminds us of the importance of recognizing Yeshua as our Savior and King, praising Him and surrendering to His will in our lives.
• Contrast with Human Expectations: Many people in the crowd expected the Messiah to be a military leader who would deliver them from Roman rule. However, Yeshua defies these expectations by showing that His mission is redemptive and spiritual. This contrast teaches us to adjust our expectations and understand that God’s plans, although sometimes different from ours, are always perfect and seek our redemption and spiritual restoration.

In summary, Yeshua’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem teaches the importance of humility, since Yeshua entered riding on a donkey, not on a war horse. Second, it shows the fulfillment of prophecy, reinforcing faith in the veracity of the Scriptures. Finally, it highlights the true nature of Elohim’s kingdom, centered on peace and love, not earthly power.

15 “FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SITTING ON A DONKEY’S COLT.”

We hope that you, and especially your sons and daughters, will enjoy this activity. And also perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us.
