Shabbat Shalom, Nazarene family.
This week we bring the activity of the parashah Lech Lecha, portion of year 2, where we will study the story of Abram rescuing Lot from the hands of the kings who took him hostage. In addition, we will see Abram being blessed by the king of Salem, Melchizedek. Also, in this portion we will see the covenant that Yahweh makes with Abram and the vision that was shown to him at nightfall.
B’reisheet (Genesis) 15:4-6
4 And behold, the word of Yahweh came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
6 And he believed in Yahweh, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

Summary of the weekly study, Year two:
B’reisheet (Genesis) 14:1-15:21
These verses teach us about Abraham rescuing Lot from the kings after being taken hostage in battle. Melchizedek, king of Salem, blesses him. Yahweh promises Abraham a son and numerous heirs. Abraham believes and Yahweh counts it as righteousness. Yahweh makes a covenant with Abraham, promising to give the land of Canaan to his descendants through a sacrifice to seal the covenant. Through these events, Abraham’s faith, his obedience to Yahweh and Elohim’s faithfulness in keeping His promises are highlighted, laying the foundation for the people of Israel and their relationship with Yahweh.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 41:1-20
These verses present a message of comfort and promise from Yahweh to His people. Elohim calls the nations to present their arguments, demonstrating His sovereignty over all earthly kingdoms. He promises to help His chosen servant and His people, assuring their protection and strength in times of trouble. Yahweh exhorts Israel not to fear, for He will sustain and strengthen them. The contrast between the weakness of man-made idols and the strength of the Creator is highlighted. Yahweh promises to restore the dry and desert land, showing His power and faithfulness to His people.
Mattityahu (Matthew) 1:18-21
These verses relate the birth of Yeshua. Yoseph discovers that Miriam (Mary) is pregnant by the work of the Set Apart Spirit. A messenger (angel) reveals to him in a dream that the child will be the Messiah, and instructs him to call him Yeshua, which means “Savior”, because he will save his people from sin. This narrative highlights the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies and establishes Yeshua’s redemptive purpose. Yoseph acts obediently and accepts his role in the Father’s plan, evidencing the importance of faith and willingness to fulfill the will of Yahweh, our Creator.

We encourage you to do it week by week and instill in your children the habit of studying Yahweh’s word as a family.
We hope you and especially your sons and daughters enjoy this effort. For it is through the study of the Scriptures that we can come to understand the love and care that Yahweh has always had for us. And also to perceive that He has been taking care of even the smallest detail, so that we can take care and enjoy all that He gives us. That is why it is so important that our children learn and grow up knowing that they are loved by the Creator of all that exists.
