Parashiot Vayetze

Vayetze, Vayeitzei, or Vayetzei (וַיֵּצֵא—Hebrew for ‘and he left‘, the first word in the parasha) is the seventh weekly Torah portion in the annual cycle of Torah reading.

The parasha tells of Ya’akov’s (Jacob) travels to, life in, and return from Harran. The parasha recounts Ya’akov’s dream of a ladder to heaven, Ya’akov’s meeting of Rachel at the well, Ya’akov’s time working for Laban and living with Rachel and Le’ah (Leah), the birth of Ya’akov’s children, and the departure of Ya’akov’s family from Laban.
