Parashiot Vayechi

Vaychi, Vayechi or Vayhi (וַיְחִי—Hebrew for “and he lived”, the first word of the parasha) is the twelfth weekly Torah portion in the annual cycle of Torah reading and the last in the Book of Genesis.

The parasha tells of Ya’akov’s (Jacob) request for burial in Canaan, Ya’akov’s blessing of Yoseph’s sons Ephrayim (Ephraim) and Menasheh (Manasseh), Ya’akov’s blessing of his sons, Ya’akov’s death and burial, and Yoseph’s death.
